We’re gonna grab this cat and let it out of the bag! Ok, so, we will attempt it, anyway. I’ll also warn you…for this cat, there is a dumpster involved, so prepare yourself…

I need to be sure everyone knows, I do not claim to be an educated, seminary-trained dude. Therefore, I must put the caveat out there that I am pursuing re-definition through the eyes of what I have found through Scripture and experience. This is the first post in a series of posts about definitions. I am going to attempt to “let the cat out of the bag” as I talk about words that may have been hijacked over the years. Perhaps these words have been given a definition that may not have been shined on with a midday sun. The first cat?

The saying, “Someone let the cat out of the bag.” Have you heard of it? My belief is that there is this proverbial bag we all carry. In this bag are several cats. At different times of our lives these cats scratch and meow…so we let them out.

Some of us grab a club. And. Get. To. Work. (It’s a shame, I know. But remember, proverbial)

You know what’s crazy? Some of us pick up cats at different stops along the way and we stuff them in this proverbial bag we have…perhaps never to be seen again.

Yeah, sure. We feed them. We give them water. We have kitty litter in the bag. Sometimes we empty that. Sometimes. So we take care of these cats. But show them, or even worse, release them? No way! That’s above our pay grade… Continue Reading…
