Throw Back Series 4 – Stack of Pulp (part 2)

This is the fourth Throw Back Series post entitled Stack of Pulp (part 2). I was with some friends at a retreat in November, 2008. This post was put online in early December, 2008. Here is part 1 if you missed it. There was a bon-fire that wasn’t quite bonning. So some guys from the retreat went to work at getting it bonning. Enjoy and may you be encouraged.

So, yeah.  The smoke from the fire from the last post…

As I was stoking the fire and rearranging the logs and embers, the heat got hotter and hotter.  The flames weren’t too visible, but the heat was SOOO intense.  The flames were not orange and red, but they were blue and white. The smoke got in my eyes.  I began to cry.  The smoke got in my lungs.  I began to cough.  I had to take a break and step away from the heat and from the smoke so I could rest, quit crying and so I could breath.

I can’t breathe some times.  I cry some times.  I get really tired some times.  I have felt the heat some times.  I have had to step away from things some times so I could relax and refocus.

The way I get involved in life is I get . . .

I have to step back.

But my personality is very driven and task oriented.  So, i see the fire behind the smoke.  The fire is the destination.  I can see the fire so I stay near it and continue to pursue it.

I need to step back and . . .

So, pray for me that as I cough, cry, get fatigued, am busy, please pray that I see the times that I should just step back and breath in Christ and His Rest and Peace.

During this season of Advent ( I am reminded of Gideon and his adventures as a Mighty Warrior.  He fulfilled what God had called him to do and created an altar to God.  He called that altar “God’s Peace.” Judges 6:24.

May God be your “Lord of Peace” during this time of preparation of the celebration of Jesus coming to earth from His Heavenly appointment.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.” – Isaiah 9:6-7

Grab some of that!!

Or, some of Him!
