Indecision grabs all of us at times. It is important to press on. That was yesterday. So we are pressing on! Today is about fear…six of them. Get ready.

The next of the 31 Warning Signs. What do you need to be watching out for as you are attacking your New Year’s Resolutions this year? #31WarningSigns

DAY 14

Major Cause of Failure Number 14:

One or more of the six basic fears. These fears have been analyzed for you in a later chapter. They must be mastered before you can market your services effectively.

– Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich

Here is some the information from the later chapter…

There are six basic fears, with some combination of which every human suffers at one time or another. Most people are fortunate if they do not suffer from the entire six. Named in the order of their most common appearance, they are:

At the bottom of most of one’s worries:

  • The fear of poverty
  • The fear of criticism
  • The fear of ill health

At the top of most of one’s worries:

  • The fear of loss of love of someone
  • The fear of old age
  • The fear of death

All other fears are of minor importance; they can be grouped under these six headings.

Fears are nothing more than states of mind. One’s state of mind is subject to control and direction.

Man can create nothing which he does not first conceive in the form of an impulse of thought. Following this statement comes another of still greater importance, namely, man’s thought impulses begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical equivalent, whether those thoughts are voluntary or involuntary. Thought impulses which are picked up by mere chance (thoughts which have been released by other minds) may determine one’s financial, business, professional, or social destiny just as surely as do the thought impulses which one creates by intent and design.

– Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich – pgs 222-223

Napoleon goes on to explain each fear one at at time. Lot’s of meat in those passages to definitely peruse through. If you haven’t bought this book yet…now may be the time so you can dig in to potential fears that can derail your success for 2015.

Stepping up to the plate against fear, the secret is in the last sentence of the quote I provided. Intent and design. Those two words could change your 2015 and on forever, if you let them… Be intentional with your design of confronting these fears and they will not have much to go on. Speaking of on…

On with your day people! And remember…

Go. Grow. Give.
